"Here is an EXCELLENT recording! This is indeed a good one and highly recommended. Vincent Skowronski seems to have found his metier as Gentleman Gypsy. This violinist, very simply, has the knack -- the gypsy knack--wherever he may have learned it. His rendition of Ravel's Tzigane, one of the toughest bits of violinist interpretation anywhere, is excellent. In Bartok's Rhapsody No. 1, Skowronski is much more comfortable in the music than, say, the famed Joseph Szigeti, a Hungarian to begin with, who recorded it years ago. And then, right in the same spirit, the violinist presents a seductive and comfortably paced offering of the neglected Havanaise by Saint-Saens, an exemplary performance of Dvorak's Romantic Pieces and Karol Szymanowski's haunting and electrifying Nokturn and Tarantella. Vincent Skowronski, too, features pianists who are as good as himself at the same time, i.e., Ms. Saori Chiba and Messrs. Neil Penesis and Donald Isaak. All together, they make an excellent team." --AUDIO magazine

"This compact disc definitely deserves a spot in your CD collection."
~~ Chicago Daily Herald

"Mr. Skowronski is an uncommonly expressive and persuasive violinist. Everything here is played with irresistible elan. Especially appealing are the improvisatory musings of Ravel's Tzigane. The violinist's playing is clear and bracing, and he and his skilled accompanists make such appealing music on this disc that one hopes for much more from this source. Highly enjoyable and highly recommended."
