"This is a very fine recital"
American Record Guide -- July / August 2005

"Vincent Skowronski is a Chicago-area violinist. He produces his own recordings on his own label. The title of this disc, Avec et Sans, means that some of the works here have piano accompaniment and some do not."
"Mr. Skowronski should certainly be satisfied with this performance of the
Sonata No.1 for Solo Violin in G Minor by Eugene Ysaye. This is a difficult work to interpret, basically representing the intellect of Joseph Szigeti (its dedicatee) as it confronts the sublime artistry of J.S. Bach -- and if that sounds pretentious, it most definitely is not. Summarily, Skowronski has a firmer grasp of Ysaye's elusive idiom than most of the violinists I have heard perform this work."
"Skowronski's performance of Sergei Prokofieff's Sonata in D Major for Solo Violin is revelatory. I had never heard the opening movement played so slowly before, but when I checked the tempo marking, I noticed that it is indeed MODERATO. I found that I prefer it at the correct tempo."
"The rest of the performance is also exemplary, and the March (from the opera, Love of Three Oranges) is given a good turn."

"Pawel Kochanski's arrangement for violin and piano of Maurice Ravel's
Pavane for a Deceased Princess did not impress me. The playing is good, but
I think Kochanski strived too hard to vary the tone colors in his arrangement,
thus making it sound gimmicky."
"The item by Erik Satie is only a semi-amusing trifle and Robert Schumann's Sonata No. 1 in A Minor rounds out the program for this very fine recital." -- Reviewed by J. Magil
"Vincent P. Skowronski, Concert Artist and Master Teacher of the Violin, once again provides evidence with his new LIVE recording Avec et Sans that a violin in the hands of a master musician can provide an aura of musical magic."
"So it is no surprise that Skowronski's technical mastery of the instrument along with his often mystical ability to communicate gleam forth from these performances."
"And, of course, what Skowronski recording would be complete without the collaboration of Ms. Saori Chiba? A master pianist and teacher, Chiba is also active in the Chicago area as a recitalist, along with her busy schedule as a chamber music and vocal coach."
